Andrea places a premium on being both diligent and open-minded as she listens to clients. She prides herself on being thorough in her review of the case and is especially perceptive in creating acceptable resolutions.
An exceptionally high percentage of cases that she mediates result in settlement, thus serving the parties both psychologically and financially.
Attorney & Mediator Andrea Ponticiello possesses an extremely eclectic legal background. She was a prosecutor for 11 years before opening her private practice in Family Law in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California. Because of an abiding interest in psychology, Andrea also became a part-time panelist for the Department of Mental Health as a Hearing Officer for 15 years.
Andrea taught at Empire Law School for two years, and is often a speaker at local high schools educating young people about the law in their lives.
Andrea received her law degree from the University of San Diego. She later received her initial training for Mediation at Harvard Law School through their Extension Program.
Andrea has substantial experience as a neutral hearing officer in many capacities. She sat as a judge pro tem in Marin County for eight years in Juvenile and Adult Traffic Court. She was the Chair of the Sonoma County Tax Assessment Appeals Board for 14 years.
Andrea also serves as a Neutral Arbitrator panelist on the Office of the Independent Administrator’s office medical malpractice cases. And she currently serves on the No-Fee Mediation Panel for Sonoma County and the Mobile Home Rent Control Board.
Andrea is also a trained Collaborative Attorney.
Finally, Andrea also maintains a litigation practice which includes practicing in New York, Washington, and Connecticut.
Andrea is a member in good standing of the California State Bar, the Sonoma County Bar Association, within which she is a member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution and Mediation sections.
